Come on, you know you're curious. Through his first three games and eleven at bats, the red head is currently hitting .182/.357/.545. He sure is taking a lot of walks and hitting for some pop so far. Of course, "so far" is an extremely limited sample size. Anyways, how does everyone think Murton will fare down there? How long till he's back up?

can we get this moved to the minor leagues forum? not that i don't like to read the daily minor league box score threads, but that's kind of like searching through a game thread for a jacque jones strikeout - tedious.

In his only AAA time before this year, Murton did this:

.353 .421 .500

That year he hit .342 .403 .498 in AA.

I would hope that after he's gets himself settled back into the routine of playing everyday, he'll be able to do something along the lines of .325/.415/.500. But I'm not at all suprised that he started slowly, since he looked so out of whack his last couple at bats in the majors.

Hopefully Jacque is gone in a couple 2-3 weeks, and then Murton can be back up shortly thereafter.

WHat's going on with him? Is he coming back anytime soon? Have his stats been good?

Murton in Iowa

solid 6/4 BB/K ratio; doubles power and fairly low BABIP. I want to see him get that GB% lower.... maybe Von Joshua can help him add a little loft to his swing. He'll never be a big power guy, but hopefully he can be a doubles hitter like a Grace or Overbay.

it seems like he's always hit a crap load of ground balls. worked out well for him at first because he always had a ton of infield hits, if i remember correctly.

IIRC, one of the highest groundball percentages in the game.

If he added more loft to his swing, it would also aid his power I think.
