Just seen Lou on CSN saying Barret has had a tough few weeks, and he plans on giving him a few days off. Well looks like we are stuck with Hill and his non bat. If Izturis starts any of these days along with Jones we have basically 3 automatic outs.

Ya figured you would be jumping for joy. Hope you like seeing Hill go 0-4 every day also

This is an especially smart move as Barrett has put up a .276/.364/.483 line so far in June and has shown signs of coming out of his slump. Wouldn't want something like that to continue so we better head that off.

It's a bit early to be that drunk. I mean, I've never been so drunk that I thought Hill going 0-4 everyday was worth it for a moderate upgrade on defense.

Barrett's bat seemed to be heating up too... 2 HRs in the ATL series and an RBI last night - there is something weird going on with him though, I agree.

Ya its called our pitchers being crybabies and blaming everything on him instead of taking responsibility for their own suckage.

A past ball and a wild pitch in the first inning. That extra emphasis on catching D is paying off already!

Just you wait till Koyie Hill bats.

Ha! A passed ball and a WP already... Yeah, this was a great freaking idea.

Yeah, but Hill called those past balls and wild pitches. He obviously can't call a good game back there.

The Cubs need Barrett to be swinging well. He obviously has gotten off to a bad start to the season, but there's no point starting Blanco or anyone else. They need the bat. All they can do is hope Barrett really comes around.

As has been mentioned, he was finally starting to come around when they decided to give him a few days off, making the decision even more incomprehensible.

Barrett would've picked up the WP and thrown it into the CF bleachers.

And then sleep with sunny's wife.

and punched every pitcher on the roster right in the nose

lets not make this into the end of the world. he caught 13 innings last night, he's been so-so both offensively and defensively, give him a few nights off to take a breather mentally and physically. I wouldn't be surprised if he came back really strong after "recharging his batteries"(i hate that phrase but it's the only one that comes to mind).

But why do this when he starts hitting well? That's the big head scratcher here.

Look, everyone is going to miss his bat but my God, he needs some time time to clear his head. He can't catch, throw, run the bases, execute a rundown, or block a pitch in the dirt. I don't know what is going on with him. He's never been great defensively but he's never been this bad before either. He needs to get it together soon.
