good thing those game notes aren't copywrighted material.....

They release it as a PDF, so they aren't losing ad revenue whether you view it on your desktop or at NSBB.

how bout if we tattooed them on Derwood's forehead?

I'm amazed that Jones and Izturis get playing time every game. It's like Lou's decided that it's okay to have two black holes in the lineup every game. Wouldn't want the Cubs to score too much.

my guess is that Lilly plunks Andruw Jones and then gets tossed.......by Tschida at third base

while I want someone on the Braves to pay the price for Hudson and Cox's actions last night, I am confident that any Brave batter that gets hit by a pitch tonight will result in an instantaneous ejection of the pitcher and Lou, with suspensions to follow, regardless of the intent of the pitcher or evidence of said intent.

I feel this is one that will have to wait until next year, when hopefully Hudson will still be a Brave, and pay back can come against the actual offender.

I dont think that can be done without a warning first. Sometimes when series get nasty they will install a warning before the game. If they havent done that i think its ok for Lilly to plunk him without the penalties you stated.

Id rather have Marmol be the executionor anyway. Lilly doesnt throw hard enough for my satisfying my thirst to get even. :)

What happened last night? I didn't watch (care).

Cobs had 4-0 lead in the first inning I believe, and Marquis just blew chunks big time. Couldn't throw strikes, and when he did, he got hammered.

if you watched last nights game, it's pretty clear that warnings are meaningless. it all comes down to the subjective opinion of the umpires and whether or not they deem a hbp intentional. I think Brenly said that the umpires can do whatever they want in regard to ejecting a player if they feel a pitch was thrown at a batter intentionally, and I think under the rules he was correct.

if you watched last nights game, it's also pretty clear the Cubs are screwed if a decision comes down to the subjective opinion of Tim Tschida and crew.

The Brewers are playing tonight too? How is that possible? I thought you could only have one game on Sunday nights.

Texas can play night games on sunday because of heat.

No kidding? Well St. Louis needs to be able to do that as well starting in a couple weeks.

Hudson threw at Soriano on the first pitch of the game. it hits Sori in the head if he didn't get his arm up to block it.

Tschida issues warnings. then Sean Gallagher is beaned in his first ML AB. no ejection. then a pitch is thrown behind Izzy. no ejection.

after the Gallagher beaning, Lou looks out at Tschida with his hands in the air as if to ask 'where's the ejection.' Tschida starts yelling at Lou. there were also some serious issues with Tschida's stikezone, which made for a couple of other incidents of Tschida yelling at the Cubs dugout.

the fourth inning yesterday was really the turning point of the game. Izzy is called out on an obvious ball on a 3-2 pitch, followed by the hbp of Marshall that didn't result in ejection despite warnings after the first pitch of the game, followed by a terrible strike call on Sori that ruined his AB, followed by another strike three call on Pie on a pitch nowhere near.

If Lilly doesn't throw at Andruw Jones in his first AB, I'll be annoyed.

Indeed.

What happened?

Hudson beaned Soriano on the first pitch of the game last night. Pretty obvious it was intentional.

Now why would Hudson do that?

Sarcasm I hope right?

Well, Soriano did hit 3 HR's against them...but really, how does that warrant payback? It's not like he was showboating.
