I am willing to wager that if given equal playing time Jones will be a better hitter than Pagan. Not that it gives me goosebumps to see Jones playing.

It's not hard to be a better hitter than Pagan.

Well, Fontenot will have his chance to impress.

Sorry to hear that about the Floyd family though. :(

A player who is grieving (due to the death of a family member or friend) can be placed on the bereavement list with league permission. He must stay on the list for at least three days and be activated within ten days. His roster spot can be filled by another player. This rule is a new part of the Basic Agreement.

Best wishes to Cliff and his family.

To be honest, it may be best for the team if he just takes the whole ten days and lets both mind and body heal. If we have a prayer of a stretch run we'll need him.

Maybe we can have Jones locker cleaned out before he gets back...

Not true; it was in existence before the new basic agreement. It hasn't been around that long, though, so maybe it was in the previous agreement. And it isn't just due to death; it can be due to illness as well, which is the case with Floyd.

Hang in there Cliff. Losing a parent is no fun. Best wishes.

Hopefully Mike can make enough noise that they will be forced to keep him here and move Jacque off this roster.

Len also just said a player may only be on the list for 7 games.

Could well be. I may have been thinking of 10 by mistake because that's the number of days a team has after DFAing a player.
