Yeesh. I was on the board so briefly yesterday that I forgot to even check yesterday's thread.

Fontenot continues to impress, even before he's set to hop on a plane and head to Atlanta. He's 1-2 with an RBI double so far tonight and has his OPS back up to .944 despite the June slump.

Daytona lost 9-2. Bad outing for Taylor as he allowed 6 runs on 10 hits in 5 and 2/3's. Samardzija did retire all 4 batters he faced in relief. Platt gave up 3 more runs in just 1/3 of an inning. Colvin was 3/5 with a double. Dope and Amador each hit solo blasts.

Tennessee is tied at 4 in the 8th. Fox has a double and 2 RBI's. Gary Cates has a single and the other two RBI's.

Peoria is being shut out 9-0 in the 7th. Renshaw gave up 6 runs on 4 hits and 4 BB's in 3 and 1/3. The Chiefs didn't get their first baserunner until Malone doubled in the 7th.

Iowa down 11-6 in the 7th. Fontenot, Kinkade, Hoffpauir, and Moore all have doubles. EPatt and Soto are each 1/3.

Tennessee won 7-4 in 10. Hart gave up 3 runs, 2 earned, on 4 hits in 6 innings. Roquet, who was just called up to AA, gave up a run in an inning and 2/3's. Geoff Jones got the win and Blevins had a 1-2-3 10th to pick up his first save with Tennessee. Fox was 1/4 with a double, a walk, and two RBI's. Nate Fuld and Cates each had two singles. Simokaitis and Craig also had two singles.

Peoria lost 10-1. Another craptacular day for the Chiefs offense only managing four hits. Malone had two of them, including a double. Canzler and Wellington Castillo had the other hits.

Iowa was destroyed, 18-8. Another awful outing in relief for Cherry as he gave up 3 runs on 3 hits in an inning. His ERA is up to 6.75. Henderson gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and a walk in the 9th. EPatt finished 2/4 with a double, a walk, and an RBI. Fontenot had a double and an RBI. Kinkade and Hoffpauir each had two hits including a double apiece. Soto was 1/4 with an RBI. Alberto Garcia was 2/3 with a double in his first game with Iowa.

Craptacular is exactly the right term to use to describe the Chiefs game tonight. Renshaw looked *fantastic* through 3 - then his control went. Overall, Clinton played great and we played awful. Dylan Johnston botched another play at short - costing us (likely) a double play - still not sure how that didn't get scored an error. Or why Mota isn't playing at short. Dylan continued to look uncomfortable at the plate, and not sure what he was doing in the leadoff position.

Malone was actually born in the area, before moving away as an infant. We sat in front of what had to have been relatives - so it was nice to have some other Chiefs fans around.

I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Anyone have any reports on how Moore's defense is at SS? It would be very interesting if he could play average defense at the ML level

Looking at yesterday's log...he commited an error on the only ground ball hit at him at SS but helped turn a 4-6-3 DP in the 9th. This was the first time Moore played SS this year, according to minorleaguesplits.com.
