This year: Parker is 10-0 with a 0.13 ERA and 101 strikeouts. Norwell, which plays Saturday in the semistates, is 32-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.

6 bb and 1 er all year. 3bb and that ER was against Class 4A (indiana's biggest class) #2 ranked Carroll about 5 games into the season. The coach has used 5 pitchers this season. Parkers pitches 7-10 innings a week. Coach has said he wont sacrifice his arm for the teams sake.

Weren't Pawelak's numbers similar to that his senior year in highschool? I'm not trying to compare the two just don't want to get burned again.

I'm such a bad NSBB-er...this is the only day of the year I even look in this forum...and I only go in the minor league forum a few more times a year than that!

Has MLB instructed teams to try to take as much of their 5 minutes as possible during this thing? If not, I could see this going much quicker than that, especially for the early picks.

BA's running blog states that the Cubs "could" have a pre-draft deal cut with Parker for $2.35MM.

Now it states that KC could be on Moustakas at #2 sliding Vitters to the Cubs at 3.

So, it should be interesting to see what happens in a little over an hour.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not, but Keith Law at ESPN now projects the Cubs to take high school 3B Matt Dominquez.

So if Vitters is avaiable we take him, if not then Parker is ours......

Whatever position player we take is going to learn how to K on the high fastball. It's a right of passage in this system.

From Baseball America's blog:

There is finally some concrete word on just how long the draft will last today.MLB plans to draft up until 8:30 EDT, regardless of round. Of course, they’ll finish the round they’re in, but will not start another round after 8:30 tonight.

Also, the draft will resume at 11:30 am EDT tomorrow, and one MLB source I spoke with confirmed what Baseball America speculated earlier this spring, that several clubs will continue drafting all the way through the 50th and final round. Tomorrow’s session could last as late as 9-10 pm

I can't wait. I wonder what the GM's and scouting directors think about having this televised. Not having the 1st round completed in about 3 minutes, and maybe even having to dress up about the event.

Why? We can't develop offense anyways. At least pitchers we have a decent track record with

This just crossed my mind. The Royals have Alex Gordon at third, and he will be there for a long time. Where else would Vitters project to play??? Tehan, and Billy Buttler are already the OF's of the future, unless the Royals want to DH him they have no reason to pick him.

I think Butler is more likely to be a DH than an OF long term.

so on a scale of lame to unwatchable, what is this telecast going to be?

If you believe most of the rumors, disheartening and painful.

well thats just the cubs draft, not the actual telecast.

Do some scouts think that Moustakas can stay at SS or is it a consensus he's going to the hot corner?

He is built like a third baseman, but with Gordon there my guess is he will be a SS.
