I know he will never get to the single season record of 36. Getting over 20 has been pretty rare since the 1920s though. If he gets into the mid-20s he will be in pretty select company.

I don't really think those players would help Detroit out much.

Eyre maybe they could use. Jones would just replace Granderson at CF. I guess they could move Craig Monroe to CF and put Jones in LF. Maggs in CF? But do they really want Izturis in that Utility IF position? I mean they do have Neifi

I'd make them throw in Neifi.

It would definitely crash this board for a full week, that's for sure.

Good God, 36 triples in a season seems insane nowadays. Is that a Cobb record?

no, cobb's season high was 20. It belongs to the immortal Chief Wilson. You have to go all the way down to 23 triples before the first guy from the post-World War II era.

Granderson will probably be available in a couple of years when Maybin is ready. I dont think Granderson would be a very valuable corner outfielder though. He is a pretty good CF.

There is no solid read on Granderson yet. Last year's OPS was a dismal .773. This year he's at .905. He's 26 years old.

Not sure if he's peaking with a career year in his years 26-28 curve, or if he is establishing a breakout production standard for his next 2-3 years.

His first half last year was really good and the tailed off in the 2nd half. I think he will be a plus .800 ops guy, which is good for CF. He isnt really a lead-off man though.

When Maybin does come up in a couple of years, I think someone is going to give too much for Granderson.

Granderson is a very good defensive CF'er. His jump in numbers is b/c he's hitting an amazing amount of XBH, he's on pace to surpass what Ryno did '84 as far as the 20TR (Ryno had 19), 20HR, and 20SB.

While I doubt he'll con't this pace, he's a very good player regardless. What he is doing right now, might not be too far off of what Pie's ceiling is (Hopefully Pie will hit for a better avg. and make more contact long-term)

Isn't that a bit over the top? Dismal? His OPS+ was significantly better than Juan Pierre's, 99 to 81. Certainly that's not good, but as a cheap, young CF, it's acceptable.

granderson has 2 triples tonight. only in the 3rd inning.

That puts him 1/3rd the way to the record. ESPN should start breaking in for his ABs pretty soon.
