according to the score Piniella has been meeting behind closed doors with hendry & john m for the past 2 hours. Piniella didnt even do his pregame with santo or meet with the press before the game. Piniella is supposed to address the media at 6:40. they also say that barrett is not at wrigley.

I'm listening to The Score and it really sounds like they are doing their usual; trying hard to create controversy for ratings! I must admit that I've been glued to the radio...

First they were "reporting" that Barrett wasn't at the park and now they are saying he could be there getting treatments. They are also speculating that Piniella wants out.

We'll all find out in about 30 minutes!

FYI, there was also a players only meeting today.

I would laugh pretty hard if Lou wanted out and just quit before the game.

I'm sorry...I'd never live it down here in STL if he just quit...but that would be funny...and so representative of what Cubs fans feel like doing, but never really can bring themselves to do.

Blah, I think this is all about nothing. At least not anything we should be overly concerned about. The team is sucking so they wanted to talk about it (as they should)!

Well, Barrett isn't in the lineup tonight. And keep in mind, Blanco is supposed to be Zambrano's "personal catcher." So it is pretty weird that he would get two starts in two straight games.

Maybe the players decided to bench him tonight in their meeting because of his recent poor play? According to Comcastsportsnet, DLee approached Lou, after the game last night, about having a player's only meeting. Maybe Piniella is helping to facilitate their blessings?

It's a stretch but who knows for sure?

actually i think they are just trying to fix the transporter.

looking at barretts offensive numbers this year, its obvious that we have the Bad Michael Barrett.

Which begs the question if in fact there is a good one.

We had the good Barrett in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
