Why do i think this is a brilliant idea for the Fish?

Nolasco on Monday, Willis on Tuesday, and Mitre on Wednesday. Will we even score?

Nice to see some ex-Cubbies but lord oh lord, 3 in a row starting against us. Pinto is in the pen as well.

What are you talking about?

Monday is BK Kim

The other 2 are likely Mitre and Willis but I don't know what source you are using

BK Kim?

Do you mean BH Kim or is it someone i've never heard of. I'm too lazy to look.

I would have loved to have seen Nolasco. I just hope surgery isn't in his near future. Even if things heal up in a timely manner, he probably won't see the mound again before the All Star break.

Mitre has been very good this year with a 1.89 ERA (10 ER, 19 R), 1.11 WHIP, 31/9 K/BB, 3 HR allowed, .243/.289/.331 against, and a 3.13 G/F ratio. The most interesting Mitre stats, though, are his splits against lefties. Lefties have killed him throughout his career, but not this year. He has a .239/.314/.370/.683 line against righties in 79 ABs and a .231/.288/.308/.596 line against lefties in 74 ABs. Compare that to his three-year splits of .243/.305/.381/.686 against righties and .349/.434/.552/.986 against lefties and it's quite an improvement.

He's coming off a very good performance against the Mets where he went 7.2 IP, 8 H, 1 R (0 ER), and 8/1 K/BB. He did throw 118 pitches, though, so they'll (hopefully) be careful with him.

are there any stats to suggest this is a fluke, or the real deal?

i always liked mitre, so it's nice to see him doing well. just sucks that it has to be with the marlins.

i have a Mitre jersey, bought it after his 1 hit shutout against the Fish a couple years ago, wish i brought it with me on this trip, would love to wear it on the day he pitches for the fish against the cubs

WGN had Kim down for Monday's starter, after today's game when they listed the probable starters for the Marlins series. If I was with the Marlins I'd start every former Cub I could find. Seemed like the Pierre thing worked out well for the Dogers this series.

Wow, I had no idea that "Meatball" Mitre was doing so well.

It would be so ironic if he and Nolasco and Pinto come to town and beat the pants off of the Cubs just after Slappy McRagdollarm personally beat us 2 games in a row. Only the Cubs.
