Ideally one would like to draft the best available talent that also fits a need, unfortunately that probably won't happen for the Bulls in this draft.

To me, guys who might be the best available talent at the 9 (assuming that's their pick):

- Conley

- Brewer

- J. Wright

- Yi

Guys that fit the need:

- Hibbert

- Dawes

- Noah

Given Pax's draft philosophy in recent years, I'd assume he'd go with best available talent. I'm not sure any of those need players actually would impact the Bulls team next year. They may be best off drafting the best available player and trying to package them for a low post threat. With that said - I'm personally up in the air as to the Bulls direction. There are at least 3-4 players listed above that I really would love on this Bulls squad.

i'm confused on this... if the balls haven't dropped, so to speak, then why is everyone talking about the bulls at 9?

All non-playoff teams have X amount of "balls" put in and they draw 3 balls.

Those three teams are the top 3 picks

After that, all remaining teams pick in reverse order of finish, starting with pick 4.

The Bulls pick (from the Knicks) is 9th in a straight "reverse order".

The Bulls could either move up to 1-3, or, if they don't, would pick 9, 10 or 11. Only way they pick 10 or 11 is if a team behind them in a "straight" order were to jump into the lottery

When did what change? It's been that way for as long as I can remember.

1995 maybe?

I don't understand why anyone would want any part of Conley when we've got Hinrich and Gordon in the backcourt. Unless you plan on trading Gordon, then we lose a bunch of scoring anyway.

i guess i haven't been following the nba draft as well as i thought. i had been under the impression that each team was assigned an amount of balls via losing percentage then, with team symbol on each ball, balls were picked out randomly from that, starting at pick 12 until 1.

win that lottery!

What time is the lottery taking place?

IBL?

I think at halftime of tonight's game.

This ends my rooting against the Knicks that started with our trade two years ago! (I wish we could swap picks with them every year.) 8-)

No matter what, i'll never stop rooting against the knicks.

Because it is a Chicagolander's duty to despise every and all sports teams that originate from the New York City area. Though, NYC itself is pretty sweet.

So if the Knicks/Bulls win who do you take?

I would love to give an intelligent, well-reasoned answer to this, but I don't think you can go wrong by taking either one of them.

That said, I take Oden if I'm the Bulls. A true back to the hoop center is what they missed out on this year.

Long term, however, I believe Durant will be the better player.
