Is that Ohman or Dempster coming in? Either way, it is still a save situation.

Either way I need to grow more fingernails somehow.

We didn't give Dempster the 6 run cushion he needs so I guess we are going to lose. Let's get 'em tomorrow guys Edited by UMFan83

Stats like this tell you about the past. They tell you very little, if anything at all, about the future.

because most people use stats to predict future value. high correlation of data usually.

Why did we need to remove Murton for JJ? Murton's arm isn't very good for a RFer, but his range and routes are much better than JJ's.

Why do people like to act as though stats like wins and losses in one run games have any sort of predictive value whatsoever?

Because Garwilly probably took a stats/probability class and mojo hasn't....

Your "comment at JeffH" was about me, so don't act surprised that I'd respond.

Not furthering anything here. Just curious as to how?

Please just let it go. I'm sorry for my comments setting you off, and I'm sorry for derailing this thread. I'd appreciate a similar response from you and then we just move on.

Why does Soriano always do that annoying hop?

Well I certainly won't be pulling out my stats class notes anytime soon, yuck.

i really think you will see Guzman as the new closer next week.

his medical problems are going to preclude him from being a starter and they dont seem to be able to get it fixed.

with marmol up now and miller back next week, just makes the most sense. think its going to be cotts and wuertz setting up Angel.

did you miss the 9th inning yesterday?

murton should have made the dp, but double clutched the ball.

He was healthy last year and is healthy now.

Miller on the roster makes absolutely no sense.

Statistics like W-L record in one run games are almost entirely devoid of predictive value.
