I was searching through retrosheet and found a few games I saw as a kid that stuck out...

4-4-94 - Tuffy Rhodes starts off the year with 3 homers (hits 5 more that year before the strike) http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1994/B04040CHN1994.htm

I had forgotten that we lost that game.

8-8-95 - Luis Gonzalez drives in 6 as the Cubs score 26 vs the Rockies.

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1995/B08180COL1995.htm

7-1-99 - Mickey Morandini hits 2 homers (of his 4) in 1 game.

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1999/B07010CHN1999.htm

Those were the ones that came to mind when browsing retrosheet today. Anyone else got any?

I remember tracking this one on AOL not believing what I was seeing....

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1999/B06020CHN1999.htm

Play-by-play not available but I believe it was a 2 out rally to load the bases for Sammy followed by a walkoff grand slam.

Can anyone provide confirmation?

Edit: Looks like it was with 1 out. Also checkout who started that game.

That was Kyle's 7th start in the bigs. He took Wood's spot in the rotation (Wood out for the year with TJ surgery).

Kyle was sporting an ERA around 5.50 -- IIRC there were signs around Wrigley that said "We got Kyle", a sarcastic play on the We Got Wood t-shirts which were seen everywhere in '98.

Also, Sammy's walkoff granny was off Hoffman.

Looks like it was a 3-run HR.

August 7 2001, one of the most memorable 9th innings I've ever seen - there used to be a clip of this play somewhere online

Ricky Gutierrez fell down rounding third trying to score from second on a single. The Rockies got distracted running down Girardi at 2B, meanwhile Ricky got up and scampered home.

CUBS 9TH: FASANO REPLACED NORTON (PLAYING C ); SPEIER REPLACED

L. WALKER (PITCHING); Gutierrez singled to center; Sosa singled

to left [Gutierrez to second]; WHITE REPLACED SPEIER (PITCHING);

McGriff struck out; GIRARDI BATTED FOR FARNSWORTH; Girardi

singled to left [Gutierrez scored (no RBI), Sosa to second,

Girardi out at second (left to catcher to shortstop to first to

pitcher)]; Rockies botched rundown and let winning run

score; 1 R, 3 H, 0 E, 1 LOB. Rockies 4, Cubs 5.

Not a game score, but Randall Simon traded from Detroit to Pittsburgh in 2002 in exchange for a minor leaguer and a PTBNL named Roberto Novoa.

Wasn't that the game where Steve McMichael got ejected from the park for razzing home plate umpire Angel Hernandez during the 7th inning stretch??

That's right - same game. It also was WGN's first live HDTV broadcast. What a game to pick!

I still remember that like it was yesterday... "Me and the Ump are gonna have words" LMAO! And then security escorting him out of the booth during the bottom of the 7th. Good times!

I believe this was my wife's first game at Wrigley:

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1998/B09120CHN1998.htm

A great game--Sammy hit is 60th and the Cubs came back from a 10-2 deficit with Orlando Merced's walk off homer in the bottom of the 9th. We got splattered with beer from the upper deck, but who cares?

I was at that game in the bleachers and also got pelted by beer. Everyone in the bleachers was litering the field with garbage.

I was in the bleachers the night that Mongo got the boot and Ricky scored on Girardi's hit

Best childhood memory game was Cubs beating mets3-2 on a Keith Moreland walk-off. One of my first games and I swear the enitre crowd chanted "mets suck" as we all excited. I was little so I dont remember too many details--anyone else remember that one?

There were some crazy games down the stretch in '98. The Brewers returned the favor less than two weeks later:

Ohh noooooo! Noooooo!

BREWERS 9TH: BECK REPLACED MERCED (PITCHING); Vina grounded out

(second to first); Loretta singled to shortstop; Cirillo doubled

to left [Loretta to third]; Burnitz was walked intentionally;

Grissom popped to third; Jenkins reached on an error by Brown

[Loretta scored (unearned) (no RBI), Cirillo scored (unearned)

(no RBI), Burnitz scored (unearned) (no RBI), Jenkins to

second]; 3 R (0 ER), 2 H, 1 E, 1 LOB. Cubs 7, Brewers 8.
