Game threads aren't for rational thought.

 

Although to be fair, despite our inherited runners streak and generally strong numbers, we're way down the list in WXRL for a reason. We give up runs in bad opportunities.

 

Pardon my stupidity, but what's WXRL?

 

Win Expectation above Replacement, Lineup-adjusted

 

Basically it's a measure of how well our bullpen does for us towards helping win games. Three innings of scoreless relief in a blowout ballgame doesn't affect it nearly as much as blown saves or holds... conversly, when Wuertz came in with the bases juiced and nobody out in a close game and struck out the side, that counted a bunch.
