When was the last time the Cubs won five or more games in a row. It really cant be as hard as this franchise makes things.

We should have scored more than 2 runs off of Duke.

Does it seem to anybody else that the opposing team figures our hitters out as the game goes on? It just feels that there have been a bunch of games when the Cubs score a few runs early in the game then get shut down for the final 6 or 7 innings.

you are right

This just leaves me bitter.

C'mon Cubs, get some friggin' runs. Can't blame warm weather anymore.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm losing patience.

This team pisses me off to no end. In hindsight, I'm glad it wasn't on TV. Now back to Heroes...

It would be great if this "powerful" lineup would start hitting a couple homeruns here or there.

It looked like the hitters relaxed after they had a lead against Duke.. they knew Hill was pitching... so they didnt think a lot of support was needed.

That, or our offense just sucks.

Don't worry guys, I'm sure the Cubs will come out and put up a 10-2 shellacking on the Pirates tomorrow, and then lose 3-2 in extra innings on Wednesday.

That looked like a game to start a losing streak. Hopefully, I'm dead wrong.

Well the Pirates starter tomorrow is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA, so I'd say a shutout for us is in order.

The Cubs have had a routine of scoring early and shutting down the past few years. Not sure if it's more than just selective memory though.

Duke has shut down the Cubs repeatedly, I think he figured them out long ago.

It's not too hard to figure out the Cubs. Throw pitches just off the plate and they'll get themselves out.

what's funny is that our bullpen is statistically better than more than 2/3 of baseball, but they're 0-7. It's like they pitch great when up by 6 or down by 1 or 2, but when they're up by a run or tied, bombs away for the other guys!

This year's team certainly has embraced the idea of "finding a way to lose" -- which is something that any true Cubs ballclub should be able to do.
