We shouldn't even let our 7 and 8 hitters bat. We should forfeit those at-bats instead of wasting time.

So Jones or Floyd?

Soriano

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Barrett

Murton

Derosa

Someone engrave this in Lou's head.

So-how was the defensive play on the DP? Pat is going on and on about how Jones hit it so hard and it should have been a base hit that Hardy made a great play on to stop it.

Honestly how many teams have really strong 7 and 8 hitters other than the Yankees?

His bat might not be ready, but his defense is. He'd cover the range of a Sori/Murt LF/RF combo, provide a well above average arm on short drives, and will help the pitching staff. If we get the improved offense (and OBP) from Murton and Theriot, his bat wouldn't be an issue in the 8 hole.

Just my dos centavos

Look at my above lineup. When Pie develops, we do.

Come on. Izturis and Blanco are two of the worst hitters in the Majors. They have to basically get lucky to get a hit.

I agree (see me above too). I think we can wait out Pie's bat if we start Theriot and Murton

There are so many Old Style commercials on 720. I don't remember there being this many in the past. They might as well change the name from World's Greatest Newspaper to Worlds Oldest Fermented Rat Urine.

Not many teams-that's for sure, especially when they are playing a backup catcher like the Cubs are tonight.

Funny how being a lousy hitter in the 8-spot is not a problem for Pie, but with Izturis it's the end of the world.

Izzy v. Theriot is an upgrade without a drop in defense.

I'd keep Jones and dump Floyd if it were possible, and make him the 4th OF. But that's probably not possible given their contracts.

Yadier Molina, Brad Ausmus, Adam Everett, Alex Gonzalez, Craig Counsell-those are just some of those hitters in our division that are just as bad over a typical full season, and I'm sure I could come up with 3-4 more if I thought harder.

I love that Wuertz has been used as our real "closer" so far this year. I think Lou understands that theory and has put Michael in that role.
