enjoy it Sox fans. You're still finishing 4th

I had them finishing 2nd with a possible WC berth. Their pitching is too strong for them to be in 4th this year. Buehrle seems to have arisen again and the rest of their rotation looks real solid. Danks has had two real solid starts, even though he lost both games. If their offense can get on track, they are going to be a real good team.

Who's Mark Buerhle?

He is that guy with one more no-hitter than Greg Maddux.

All of the pitchers to compare accomplishments with, Maddux isn't one to start (yes, I know that Maddux said it).

Jose Jimenez, I'm looking at you.

Actually, he's twice as good as Buehrle and infinitely better than Maddux. So yeah he definitely belongs in the Hall.

Let's not forget future HoF'er Anibal Sanchez! He too is much better than Maddux. I think Sanchez and Buehrle will have their own wing in Cooperstown. :joker:

Sanchez is a very promising young player. In his rookie year last year he was 10-3 with a 2.83 ERA at 22 years old. I think Buerhle and Nomo make the better jokes.

I don't (outside of 2006 Buehrle hasn't had a bad career either). Seemingly every pitcher on that Marlins staff is injured this year. Sanchez's career going forward is uncertain... My point is that one good season, or game, doesn't equate to a HoF career.

Well, since we're comparing Mark Buerhle to Greg Maddux lets look at some basic statistics.

20 win seasons:

Mark Buerhle: 0

Greg Maddux: 2

Ad. Maddux

19 win seasons:

Mark Buerhle: 1

Greg Maddux: 5

Ad. Maddux

Career Win %:

Mark Buerhle: .600

Greg Maddux: .620

Ad. Maddux

Should we continue or do you now realize that this was an incredibly thick-skulled comparison to make.

Again,
