Voting this early certainly makes it impossible to believe it's anything other than a popularity contest. For how early it is, the only determination that can be made based on this year's performance is that Z won't make it this year. Pujols and his .160 BA probably still get in.

I think it would probably be easiest to get someone in at C. 2B has Utley and SS has Reyes. It's gonna be hard to beat all the New York fans voting for Reyes and Utley is clearly the best 2B. McCann is clearly the best catcher, but he isn't well known to the common fan. I say everyone vote like crazy for Blanco (is he even on the ballot?). We can also get other message boards to get in on this. If we get enough people from enogh message boards, we can make it work.
