I'd give $5 to be a part of that conversation

You might not understand it unless you understand spanish.

All those Dusty innings have caught up with him, I think.

If that ends up being the case, let me assure you that Dusty will move to the top of my Most-Hated List for trying his hardest to ruin every pitcher who put on a Cubs uniform during his tenure.

Cripes, he should have been fired after the Chad Fox debacle. That was inexcuseable.

Maybe I missed something with Fox. The guy blew out his arm. I think that had a lot more to do with the rest of his career than his brief stint with the Cubs.

He was worked way too often. The day he blew out his arm was the first time he had pitched on back-to-back days. It doesn't take a genius to see that he shouldn't have been pitching then after rehabbing his arm. (or whatever it was that was wrong with him)

I'll let another Cubs site explain this:

Fox was coming off an injury-filled 2004 during which he had thrown only 10 2/3 innings with the Marlins. So what does Dusty do? Pitches Fox five times in a week from April 11 to April 17, including the final three days in a row. Dusty pitched Fox on April 24 and tried to bring him back the next day against Cincinnati. On the TWENTY-FIFTH pitch Fox threw in a 10-3 Cubs blowout, Fox’s right arm went flying toward the Cubs dugout, and his career was over.

I remember watching it. Dusty officially made Fox the closer and even so started to pitch him in non-save situations. Sure enough he blew out his arm. There's no doubt in my mind the pitcher-killer had something to do with it.

Does that qualify as an RGI (Run Gloved In)?

It DOES count as an opposite run though doesn't it?

instead of 5-1 it's 4-1. So infact he added a run by subtraction.

it would be nice if the myth that great plays in the field led to offensive momentum was in any way valid.

So you don't believe in momentum at all. I doubt they'll score here. I'm just wondering.
