What was MB doing? Why wasn't he legging it out on that play?

Didn't know BP was going to bobble the ball; he wanted to avoid the tag-and-throw double play.

Thats what they were saying, but I think he was too far towards the mound for that to happen.

Ron's making it sound like Barrett mistakenly held up to avoid being tagged out, only to see the ball come in on the SS side of the base.

Right, Bob said the same. I don't buy it though since the Reds 2B obviously wasn't in position to tag Barrett out; his only play was for a quick flip to the SS covering the 2b bag.

Ok, seriously, we need to get Cedeno off this team, Red's defensive blunders or not.

Guys. It's only a couple of at-bats.

those of you on mlb.tv....did you have a problem logging in, or did it take you straight to the game no problem?

When I first logged in I got a quick ad but other than that, I got in no problem.

Probably right, but Barrett did what he did for a reason, whether it was the correct choice or not.

IIRC, Mabry helped the Cubs avoid a DP last year by doing the same thing.

I had a problem. It kept taking me to the premium upgrade page when I clicked on the non-premium link. Well, it worked, because I gave in and bought the upgrade.

Cubs are running wild today.

And all 3 attempts have been successful and iirc, with 2 outs. I like Lou's philosophy of running on the battery of Harang and Valentin.

You're over-reacting to every little single thing. It's one game of 162. It's a couple of AB's over the course of a season. Yes, it's annoying. But calling for his release is a pretty serious over-reaction, don't you think? He's a back-up SS/2B. It's not like he's starting.

Yes, but they all tell a story. Impatient hitter, dependent on average, he still hasn't looked like he's learned anything this year.

Well today he is starting.
