I just noticed they are keeping current season stats, including ERA+ and OPS+ so I don't have to wait until the end of the season for the numbers.

Kudos to you, kind sirs and/or madams, for getting that implemented.

It's insane what you can do on that site.

Let's say I want to know the most games in a row where Adam Dunn got a strikeout. Using baseball-reference, I'd know that from 9-22-2004 to 4-7-2005 Adam Dunn went 14 straight games getting a strikeout!

Or maybe I wanted to know which pitcher has given up the most sacrafice flies to Michael Barrett. Using br, I'd know that it's Russ Ortiz!

Do you know what pitcher Craig Biggio has been hit by the most? Pedro Astacio hit him 7 times in his career!

Who has intentionally walked Barry Bonds the most? Greg Maddux!

Who has caused Juan Pierre to groundout to 2B the most? Russ Ortiz

The site is simply amazing.

If you look up to see which second baseman was statistically guaranteed to hit 100 hr this year, save at least 20 babies from fires during the course of the season, and punch Joe Morgan in the mouth on live television, br would show that it's Mark DEROSA.

Edit: ftr, I forgot that I was posting in a br thread and not a hijacked derosa thread. not quite awake yet.

They had to increase their database by a terabyte just to hold this stat.

Yeah, they're keeping current stats in April. Let's see them do it in September when it really counts.

I love Baseball Reference and it continues to get better and better. Now if they could just combine Baseball Reference's layout and functionality with Baseball Cube's expanded database of college, minor league, and Japanese stats (as well as high school and draft info), it would be the ultimate.

Until Baseball Reference starts keeping stats measuring heart, hustle, grit, moxie, spunk, tenacity, fortitude, and other Jeter and Erstad-esque intangibles, it will always be a subpar website.

It told me that Jimmy Haynes walked Mark Bellhorn more than any other pitcher. My day is complete.

Vladimir Guerrero currently leads the MLB with a 339 OPS+ though Akinori Iwamura (338) and Miguel Cabrera (336) aren't far behind. DeRosa is 8th with a pedestrian 247.

Dan Haren has a 620 ERA+ with John Lackey second at 566. Hill and Lilly are tied for 8th with 301.

I love baseball reference.

I know it's only 5 games into the season but I love looking at the leaderboards and seeing the Cubs having leaders in a lot of the categories.

Looks like old Lucky Pierre is leading the leauge in outs again - what a suprise

Oh don't worry he'll bounce back in the second half of the season and save the Dodgers
