"Hill told a fan"

That right there makes me doubt this.

He said earlier in the report that there was a grand total of three fans there to the first pitch of the game, which actually makes sense to me (9 am Sunday minor league exhibition game at Fitch). So the random fan was probably not all that random.

Per Bruce, Hill doesn't think the blisters will be a problem on Friday.

Bruce Miles / The Daily Herald[/url]"] Cubs lefty Rich Hill said Monday that a blister on his finger will not affect his start Friday in Milwaukee.

Hill rejoined the team Monday, one day after having his minor-league appearance cut short in Mesa, Ariz. Hill said he threw 30 pitches in the bullpen and 15 in 1 inning against Triple-A players. The blister also affected Hill’s last Cactus League start.

“I felt fine,” he said. “Everything was good mechanically. I just got a little blister on the finger so I had to stop and just cut it short from. I was planning on going 90 (pitches) or 6 (innings), but it flared up so I couldn’t. I could have kept pitching, but I wasn’t going to go further and make it any worse than it was.”

Hill has had a history of blisters on his fingers.

“Generally, I just take a day off from throwing, and it will be fine,” he said. “It’s funny because it’s such a small thing. It’s only on my fastball, too.”

Blisters are a common thing among pitchers. I'm not worried about it until it keeps him out of a game and affects the rest of the rotation.
