I had never heard of Walters State until a friend that I go the church with has a son (freshman) that plays the outfield for them and has already got some type of agreement with the Atlanta Braves. His name is Adam Milligan. As many of their players have done the same with major league clubs, Walters State (Morristown, TN- east TN) has won the national championship several years and they have a powerhouse team this year, too. Should be interesting to see how they do against the Smokies.

Adam lives in Savannah, Tn (west TN) which is 7 miles from Bufford Pussers (Walking Tall) hometown of Adamsville, TN and 18 miles from Selmer, TN where the famous Mary Winkler trial which will start April 9, and will be seen in its entirety on Court TV. Twenty-six major networks and TV stations will invade this small town of Selmer for the extent of the trial. Selmer is about 40 miles from Jacksn, TN , the home of the Daimond Jaxx. Just to put things in perspective.

So far:

Tennessee Smokies vs. Walter State - 7:00 pm EST

Daytona Cubs vs. Embry-Riddle - 7:00 pm EST

I'll update when I hear about Iowa's exhibition game.

ETA: No Peoria exhibition game.

The Smokies typically play the UT Vols at some point before their season opens. Not sure if it's scheduled this year or not.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Taylor and Atkins develop this season. Both have ceilings of good middle of the rotation starters and the FSL is notoriously pitcher-friendly.
