The Cubs and Rangers continue tracking Barmes. The Rockies have long liked Cubs pitcher Carlos Marmol.

so Cedeno can statrt everday in Iowa instead of being the 25th man. I don't want Thomas Perez on this team but I would prefer to keep letting Ronny improve in Iowa.

Novoa/Warlond for Barmes is what Hendry should offer.

I wouldn't complain about a Novoa for Barmes deal. The Rockies probably would, however.

Marmol for Barmes is a ridiculous idea! I don't think the Cubs would do it. The author is speculating.

Barmes would be an interesting acquisition, but I think Marmol is a little too much to pay. If Cedeno is still playing well, I'd just as soon use him as the utility infielder.

I don't think I'd even do that. Barmes has only had one halfway decent season, and throughout his career he's never done anything away from Coors(Career: .790 OPS at Coors, .642 on the road). His minor league career doesn't offer much hope either.

I seem to remember that going into last season, the Rockies had interest in Ronny Cedeno. Thats about as much as I would give up if Hendry is really interested in Barmes.

Ronny is becoming really popular with the Cubs brass - I think Lou would rather have Ronny than Barnes.
