I guess letting all three hitters he faced reach base yesterday was enough.

Didn't he walk all 3? Ugh - if he has any value, let's trade him.

He's not going to have any value until he builds up his arm strength again-they said he was throwing in the 80's yesterday.

Farnsworth deal not looking so great right now.

I wouldn't call it a horrible deal though. Moore could still be used as a trading chip to get somebody especially if he has a good year this year.

I'll wait to judge that when we find out what Moore gets us in a trade.

Does anyone know if Moore is going to play shortstop for Iowa this year?

It never did. Another of those stupid deals where Hendry just got rid of someone to get rid of them.

It's probably a lot more likely that he splits time between 1st, 3rd and corner OF. Personally, I'd like to see what he could do at 2nd base but with Patterson there it's unlikely to happen.

Thank. God.

I hope to never see Novoa appear in another game in a Cub uniform.

It'd be real nice if they could find him some time at SS, but I'd settle for getting him plenty of time in the corner infield and outfield spots. It'd be real nice to have a left handed power bat that could fill in at quite a few spots.

What has Farnsworth done that has been so spectacular?

It was a nothing trade...so what.

He also would have left as a FA by now anyway so the fact that the Cubs still have one fairly servicable pitcher and one prospect with some potential trade value in the system to show for it actually seems like a plus for Hendry.

We didn't get a serviceable pitcher in that deal.

Yeah, ha, ha, Novoa is worthless and completely sucks, I get it.

He appeared in 66 games last year and put up an ERA of 4.26 The year before he appeared in 49 games with an ERA of 4.43. I know, I know, ERA is not the greatest stat in the world but for a long / middle reliever I think he at least qualifies as "serviceable".

"Serviceable" pitchers find a spot on the roster. They don't get sent to the minors.

Yeah but now we don't have a pitcher that runs up to the batter, does a signature double leg takedown, and then beat the batter silly.

That was awesome.

You're right, Mike Weurtz was "good" and got sent down.

Seriously though, bad argument. Its only good if talent evaluation and talent level are equal and if the only thing determining demotion/promotion is current skill rather than contract/options whatever. It also assumes every team has the same talent level at that position.
