LETS STAY ABOVE .500!! GO CUBS!

Some things never change. Sammy Sosa is arriving at HoHoKam for the first time this season on March 21st. That's about the same time he would arrive there when he played for the Cubs.

luckily marquis is pitching he's our best matchup at the plate(3 for 7) 8-)

Marquis has been very lucky this spring too.

Maybe a little bit, but he has done all the things he needs to in order to be successful so far this spring (I won't make any predictions for today's game). He has kept the walk totals low (2 in 9.0 IP). He has kept the ball in the ballpark (0 HR). He has kept the ball on the ground (16 GO/5 FO). Because of the ground balls, he has limited the number of XBH (1 off him so far) and also gotten a couple of DP. It's no wonder then that even with a high WHIP that he could keep the runs down. Now, obviously he has had a little bit of luck-he's not going to keep that 2 ERA because he won't be able to limit all the XBH-but if the others stay on a similar road and he keeps pitching well, he will be pretty good. The question then becomes if he can keep pitching well, and I guess today is the first step in answering that.

Is it me or has Jones's time in CF increased since Soriano was more or less named the CF starter? I like to see Murton get some time in RF.

Murton in RF?!!?

I like it. Murt's already impressive value for this team goes waaaaaaaaay up if he can show that he can handle RF at least not disasterously.

Wow, I guess the Cubs are still shopping Jones.

Even if Jones ends up going nowhere, I like the idea of Murton and Floyd being able to play at the same time.

It definitely gives the team more flexibility and if it works out well, it probably eliminates the need for Angel Pagan as a backup (in addition to making the trading of Jones easier)

If Murton can handle RF, I can start up a couple more trade for Dunn threads. :D

Why? Or we could just start "Start Soriano in LF, Murton in RF, Jones and then Pie in CF" threads. .

I'm off to the game in a few minutes. Bruce can you get me a press pass? ;).

Wish I got the 'A' lineup today instead of the partial A lineup, but I'll be going to the game tomorrow too with Prior pitching so oh well.

Yeah, Jones's time has increased there. They wanted to get as many innings as possible in with Soriano to see if he could handle playing CF, and now they appear to be doing the same thing with Jones to see if he can back up Soriano there, thus eliminating the need for another player on the roster who needs to play CF.
