whatever the category is, tim and raw are the best. that's all there is to it.

*with the exception of championships.

Yeah, but I'm the best in the regular season, when it really matters.

i thought i had the most regular season points last year...

I'm talking over the past three years. Consistency is key!

sorry...i can't remember back that long. my memory only goes back as far as my two titles...

My three straight appearances in the championship game are pretty clear in my memory.

Hi Jim Kelly.

How on earth did I miss the fact that after my big Johnson leaves the game that I can bring my powerful Wood in for relief?

I'm concerned about losing my Wood.

Is that why you're considering a Harden?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

You ever going to make up your mind about those offers? :D

I've been considering but I'm thinking I may have to hold on to the starting pitching, even if I'm losing some points in the outfield. As soon as I say this though I know he'll get hurt.

Which of the two offers do you prefer? I could throw some mid-level SP into the mix if that'll get the deal done.

Mauer is having issues :x . A possible stress fracture.
I read that what he has is actually a degree less than a stress fracture (I think the term I saw used was "stress reaction") and that he expects to be ready for the opening of the season. In fact, he said that he could have continued to play if this were the regular season. I hope that's true, since he's my starting catcher in another league. Given that my reserve catcher in that league is Brian McCann, though, I'll be OK (that's an autodraft league; I'm surprised I wound up with both of them).

I had Valverde last year and wasn't too happy with him. Granted, he may be having a solid spring but I haven't checked it out. Jackson is great with the exemptions, but Youkilis has had a solid spring and I'd have to make another move of some sort to make room for him. Not sure who you have but I may take a look later. I'd also have to look over the rest of my SP.

Jackson would slide in nicely at Utility, where you currently have a part time player and a AAA player. Jackson would make a pretty big difference for your offense.

My DL may be complete; Freddie Sanchez may begin the season on the DL. Imagine a DL that includes the 2006 NL batting champion, 2005 AL stolen base leader/2006 runner-up, and the player who finished 3rd in the 2006 AL Rookie of the Year voting (who would have won going away if not injured). Impressive.

I'm likely to have a DL with:

Vic

Wood

Unit

Weaver (the good one)

Mulder

That's some pretty serious firepower out of action. :(

My two Johnsons, plus Garcia(?) are on the list.

Of course it should be noted that in this league if a player is not real good, he is not worth holding onto.

I now have five players officially on major league disabled lists (Liriano, Figgins, Ryan, Jennings, and Owings). Let's see if anybody can top that. :D

Fortunately, Owings still has plenty of minor league eligibility remaining, so I can stash him on my minor league roster instead of having to carry two injured players on my reserve list. On a related note, to make room for him, if anyone's interested in a fallen former #1 overall draft pick, Bryan Bullington will be coming soon to a waiver wire near you. :D

I'm making my 2nd minor league promotion of the season next week. That's right. Josh Hamilton has earned a spot on my roster. He'd be 2nd on my team in offensive points if I made this move to start the season.

The other promotion was BJ Upton.

By the way, I will be out of town on business all of next week. That will give you all a week to not have to hear how awesome my pitching staff is. Unless of course, someone would like to make a daily post in the game thread about how awesome my pitching staff is. :D

Good luck to everyone next week, except Alamo Stealth.
