I am going to be buying tickets to the Brewers-Cubs first series, and it looks like there is a possible Sheets-Zambrano matchup. The Cubs have an off day after the opener, do you think they will skip the 5th man and throw Zambrano on saturday, or let the 5th man pitch saturday and throw Zambrano on sunday?

Obviously it's probably too early to know how it will pan out, but tickets go on sale in a couple days so I want to have some kind of idea.

I read somewhere a few days ago that Lou believes in keeping the 5 man in tact throughout the season, and he would do so in April as well.

Teams never skip the #3 starter anyway.

Thanks, it looks like sunday is the day then

Yeah, I'll be at the saturday game. Pissed I'm gonna miss that pitching matchup. We got 35 group tickets. We're right on the lowest level by first base. Should be a good time. We go every year with a busload of guys, but last year the Cubs were so far out of it when we went that it wasn't as fun as it should've been.

Boy, I hate being the bearer of such bad news. It makes everyone so grumpy.

When Prior proves healthy and Hill averages 3 K's an inning in ST, we all know Marquis will actually be the #5, and Lou will eventually change his mind about skipping the 5th starter on off days.

Of course, it might be more favorable to not skip the 5th starter on off days, and instead toss one of Miller or Guzman out there to pitch in Marquis place.
