I read the other day that all but either four or five Cubs reported to Spring Training early. Earlier, I noticed that three of those four or five reported today. So is Aramis the only Cub that didn't show up early? That certainly isn't going to impress anyone.

Showing up on time is good enough for me.

He gave up 40 million dollars to stay with the Cubs. He can show up April 1 for all I care

I say it's 40 million reasons to show up early.

The $40 million that he passed up on in favor of staying with the Cubs?

I disagree. I hope he made arrangements with Piniella to show up at some point tonight (if he hasn't already made an apperance. A la Carlos calling Lou on the 14th to tell him he'd be there by 8pm). Aramis needs to be in camp on time to workout and get re-focused. Besides, he looked out of shape to me at his press conference.

Whether he's a day or two late to camp or not isn't going to change that. Either he was working out and getting in shape at home, or he wasn't.

Aramis leaves money on the table to stay with us and fans are turning against him less than a week into spring training?

The longer he isn't there the longer he needs to workout.

I still don't understand why he wanted to come back to this

My comments have nothing to do with "hustle." The fact remains that he's, reportedly, the only person on the 40 man roster who hasn't arrived. I don't care how much money he gave up to re-sign with the team. Getting into camp on time has nothing to do with money so, unless he has a good reason, it can't be a positive.

Turning against him? Who's doing that?

when he DOES show up, i'm sure lou will throw first base at him and this will cause the cubs to win the world series.

On the Score they said Ronny Cedeno has yet to report. That is just funny to me.

No, he's there. At least according to Cubs.com, that is.

He hasn't shown up early to spring training, and it immediately turns into "well he looked out of shape to me" and "he's not early? that's not impressing anyone".

It's useless garbage and it hasn't even been a week yet.

i heard rumors that he wasn't hustling through the airport to catch his flight to mesa, this has already cost the team one spot in the standings.

Can't comment on the out of shape thing cause I wasn't the one who said that, but what's so "garbage" about saying that he's not impressing anyone by being the only person who isn't early? Whether people want to acknowledge it or not, being the last person to arrive doesn't look good. Especially when all of your other teammates get there before they have to.

Being late isn't garbage. If that's the case, why have deadlines? Like I said, unless he's already made arrangements with Piniella to come in later than everyone else it's not a positive. This goes for Aramis, Ronny, or anyone else. I didn't like it when Sammy used to stroll in late (and his teammates didn't either).
