I really wish I could either get NFL Network a la carte or on extended basic cable. I'm unwilling to pay the $12/month for the package that includes that, ESPNnews, and a bunch of other channels that I could care less about.

And I'm not going to dish. I don't like commitments to services.

I don't like them either. But I'd bet you'd stay with the service that long even without the commitment. No reason to punish yourself just to pretend you've got freedome to move from service to service.

Watched last night. I can really study games when they are re-runs. Really ugly game, with some outstanding performances mixed in. Probably the best LB play that I've seen all season. Urlacher almost single-handedly won that game. Briggs was great. Hillenmeyer probably had his best game of the season. Mike Brown was playing, and he's a real good player. If he's healthy, between him, Urlacher, Anderson and Tommie, the defense will be great regardless of Briggs playing or not.

Probably the worst game I've ever seen from a QB. Rex made some decent throws, but all 4 INTs were horribly thrown and/or misreads. Insanely bad throws on wide open deep balls. For all the HRs the Bears hit with Berrian, Grossman could have had several more last year. Despite the "book being out" on the Bears offense, Berrian got open deep even in the Superbowl. Rex has to get more air under the ball on the deep post, and he puts too much air under passes down the sideline. Rashied Davis looked real good that game. Not as good after the catch as I would like, but probably better than the mediocre slot WR I've thought all year, especially if he continues to develop.

Tank gets out of jail early for "good behavior."

Yes, and I understand he visits Goodall on Wednesday, where the smart money says he will receive an 8 game suspension.

I hope Dvoracek is ready to step in.

Is this based on something factual, or is it just speculation?

It's speculation, but since he's taken the reins, Goodell has really cracked down on misbehaving players. 8 games is in line with what he's done so far this offseason.

I don't think he'll ever lineup in the backfield and run the ball, but I think they can get a lot ouf of him if he has the threat of catching swing/screen passes, or running reverses.

It's a good move. He wasn't going to stick at defense and shouldn't be a three-way player, so a move to offense was the next step to take. And that's certainly a reason why they drafted an extra CB a couple of weeks ago.

He's a great screen threat. Yikes, imagine that -- a successful screen pass by the Bears.

Between Wolfe, Hester, and Olsen, the Bears got one hell of a lot faster on offense this season.

Olsen will blow away most linebackers with his 4.5 speed, Wolfe runs a 4.38, Hester runs in the low 4.3's.

This is going to be nothing if not interesting to watch. I can imagine Ron Turner is pretty happy about the possibilities, unlike after last year's draft.

With Hester moving to offense does this mean that Daniel Manning is definitely moving to corner with Mike Brown moving to FS and Archuleta playing SS?

Our defense still scares me to death...who is going to lineup next to Harris? Dvorak, Tank? I think if Briggs doesn't play he can be easily replaced because the weakside LB in the Cover 2 is a position made for people to make plays.

When Wolfe is in there, as well, I have a feeling that there will be times where Grossman gets almost too dump-off happy. But with Wolfe and Hester, there's going to be no way to avoid having more screen plays being run. It should balance the offense pretty well.

Nothing confirmed about Danieal Manning moving to CB as of now, still just talk. I think it will happen, though.

Our DT depth is certainly going to take a hit with Tank likely to miss at least half the season. The rotation right now is Tommie Harris, Tank Johnson, Dusty Dvoracek, Israel Idonije and former 49er Anthony Adams.
