what did the guy in the background yell just before prior started speaking for the first time?

Wondering that myself. It appears he made a rude comment towards Prior as one of the MC's said.."There is one in every crowd"

Prior went on to say in the interview that he "sucked" last year and is making changes to improve this year and go back to what he was.

Ted Lilly sounds like an accountant. Glad he is not paid to conduct steller interviews!

Dempster claims he lost 20lbs ... looking forward to being fit for 2007. Believes he has a chance to really have a great year.

:?

Losing weight is wonderful, I guess, but he needs to add a pitch if he wants to get lefties out.

I really hope Lou isn't planning on using Dempster only in the ninth inning, because left-handed batters kill him. If a team has three righties coming up in the 8th inning, for example, that would be a fine time to use him.

After Kap or Waddle asked, can you tell us about how your feeling and your progress as you get ready for the new season. During the pause, some guy shouted something that sounded like (and I have been repeating it several times and I still can't decipher it). . "Esterberain". . Or a long "EssTRRRbRRAIN"

If anyone wants to try, please go ahead. God this is like breaking a code.

DeRosa would be better with Theriot playing 2b. Prior said hes been throwing since mid November and that's good news.

That's what I'm thinking. Why move Theriot to a new position? If they really think he can play, put him at 2B with DeRosa in a platoon with Jones in RF and Soriano in CF.

Where the heck is the cubs convention part 2? I clearly set the comp on overnight, audacity to record, recorded successfully. There is no convention at the 9:00 a.m. mark, or anywhere inbetween. .

GileBros, I think the answer is here.

From the Cubs Convention schedule page on 720's website:

* Friday night's Sports Central broadcast live on WGN Radio 720.

All other sessions taped for possible later broadcast and inclusion on the website.

Have to read it in the papers ... or download from the website, whichever comes first.

damn, taped. Yeah at about the 9-10 mark they on WGN radio were talking ABOUT the convention going on, and piniella answering questions (BTW guys he mentioned Soriano in CF and Jones staying in RF a possibility).

Oh well what ya gonna do.

Hey guys...just checking in. I took quite a few notes from the Meet the Management session. I probably won't have time to post those until Monday afternoon sometime...maybe tomorrow night if I'm not too tired from the flight.

I also went to part of the sports medicine session, the Vine Line session with Jenkins, Trout and Zambrano and the session with Hendry and McDonough.

I'll try to post some stuff later. I'm exhausted.

Did you check out the Down on the Farm segment?

Vance, I think you would provide some comfort to us Bears fans if you'd admit that traveling from LA and being in this cold weather this weekend makes you feel a step slower, unfit to throw deep passes, unsure of your footing and blocking strength, confused by crowd noise (I know that one's a stretch) and generally less confident ... and then if you could just testify that such feelings are undoubtedly shared by anyone visiting from LA this weekend. That'd be great.

Was out for lunch today in the Loop and felt the presence of Saints fans. Nothing like being at the Billy Goat on Michigan Ave and hearing some arse screaming "Who Dat? Who Dat? Who Dat?".

I was at the convention he clearly said: "You don't deserve a raise".

Before Prior started to speak...

Wow, thanks for that. Listening from the radio feed. It clearly sounds like HHH(click)hHESTeRberRRRAY.
