Is it just me or was Penny Average except for 2004. And his peripherals have been relatively consistent except for an abberantLOB% in 04.

 

Hes signed to a 3/25, but how is he better than =Suppan

 

Suppan has been league average or above for 7 of the last 8 years.

Not sure how Dempster makes sense for the Dodgers. He makes more than Broxton and Saito combined, and both are probably better at their jobs.

 

One thing Colletti is good at is sticking it to the Cubs. Nomar, Lofton, Furcal, Milton Bradley and Greg Maddux.

 

If the Cubs want Penny, I imagine they'll be asking for Gallagher and Veal.

MLB reports Gonzo is official to the Dodgers...now what are the Dodgers going to want for Penny? Already Loney is out of a job and Saito and Brox are at the back of their pen. The only thing now would be to include Penny and Ethier in a trade for Manny. Otherwise, I don't see anywhere to upgrade (other than building a time machine and unsigning Pierre and Gonzo).

I don't see any reason why the Dodgers would be interested in Jones. I'd guess it would be bullpen help and/or prospects they'd be seeking. I would think the Cubs would match up nicely if that were the case. Penny is a better option then Meche, IMO (and Lilly, but it's too late for that).
