Just curious.

While hurt last year..

I don't understand why people don't want him besides that he's going to probably break a record, and he's the "steroid" guy. Oh yeah, I forgot about the clubhouse cancer.

Might be a liability in left, but man, would that be another huge boost to the offense, and make our offense one of the best, if not the best, in the National League.

Rumor has it that Bonds is drawing little interest even from the Giants. I still believe he could be had for a 10 million dollar deal.

With Bonds in the line-up, we could trade Jones and sign Lofton for CF.

Imagine this line-up:

RF Soriano

CF Lofton

1b Lee

LF Bonds

3b Ramirez

C Barrett

2b DeRosa

SS Izturis

Amazing!

Bonds would only be a one year, so Murton could be the fourth OF for one year and then take over in left again in 2008.

Soriano,Bonds,DLee,and Rameriz 4 guys in the lineup who could hit 30+ Wed have the best offense in the NL

i agree... i would love this... but DEFENSE???

Plus, I wonder if Bonds is pissed about the way the Giants are handling this whole thing and would sign with another team for a reasonable price just to stick it in the Giants face. Not to mention an NL team to prove that he can still play the field.

after the way Z and Prior have thrown at Bonds and shown him up, what makes you think he would want to come here?

We had 4 players (Lee, Sosa, Alou, Ramirez) with 30 HRs and 1 more (Patterson) with 24 in 2004 and we didn't have the best offense.

I don't think Bonds cares if his teammates like him.

Not much worse than Murton in LF. Bonds was once a Gold Glove OF, something Murton will never be. I'd trade Murton for a pitcher.

There's no way that I would want a prick like Bonds on the Cubs.

I always think it's a matter if a guy is "our prick" or someone else's. I watch performance and could not care any less how a player is with the press.

I would have a very hard time rooting for Barry Bonds. I don't want him on the Cubs. It's a big risk anyways, considering his health and age.

I don't think the pitcher you'd get would be equal to the value Murton provides.

Bonds also is going to miss 60-70 games, so it would be nice to have Murton to play in those games.

Yeah but wouldnt Z and Prior care if he's coming?

>_> What if we got both Bonds and Sosa.

If he could be had for anything less than $12M, he'd be absolutely worth it. He's an injury risk, especially in the NL, but with Murton as a backup fourth OF even 100 games of Bonds would be worth it.

I'd like to think the other players wouldn't be pissy about someone who's going to suddenly and drastically upgrade their offense and potentially make them a contending team.

Besides, isn't he going to run into pitchers who have tried to "get him" pretty much anywhere she goes?

I don't see what Z or Prior would care. Pay Z what he deserves and he'll sign a long term extension. Prior has to get himself straight before he worries about who his teammates are.

Unless he goes to the American league. Where he will have new guys joining the list of "Getting Him". I see it as a more likely possibility of him going to the AL.
