absolutely premature, but knowing how finicky Cubs fans are it might end up making someone a lot of money in about 9 months.

those sites are the kind of defeatist hate sites that are a total waste of time and don't contribute at all to getting the cubs to the world series. 4000 hits? we all know that you can easily put any number you want on those counters.

Actually..I know the person who put up this site. A couple of things here...

1)He bought the domain as a preemptive move figuring someone was going to do something anyway.

2)He was pissed off that Rothschild was being retained, so he decided to put his feelings out there.

3)He even admits that the site is sorta tounge-in-cheek (thus the "Because someone had to start this up!! ")

4)He is having fun watching the reactions by some people (he has forwarded me some really "interesting" emails he has gotten from people who have been really upset about this site)

and

5)He may be pissed that Piniella kept Rothschild and he may have put up this site, but he is really a big Cubs fan and he is excited about the fact the Cubs are at least trying to do something this off season to improve the club. He just wishes it was not with Piniella and Rothschild.

Enough of defending my friend.

Even if it was the complete opposite of defeatist, it wouldn't contribute to the Cubs getting to the World Series.

I don't think much of this. As these sites become more and more popular, you are going to have a firethecoach.com sites bought up the minute anybody is hired, or even rumored to be a candidate.

Has anyone tried to sell Soriano on ebay yet?

Why can't people bring back the trendy websites of the original WWW back in the mid-late 90's.

How come nobody makes "Ate My Balls" websites anymore?

"LouPiniellaAteMyBalls.com"

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing. Grab the domain, post a terrible site with a 5-minute junk layout, then hope the Cubs tank so you can cash in.

Heck, every year people just wait for the coach hirings to grab the "fireXX.com" URLs.
