Jacque Jones, Cesar Izturis, and Ryan Dempster for Miguel Tejada.

Orioles get an "All-Star" replacement for Tejada, replaces his production with Jones (who would play left, where they need bigtime help), and get a pitcher who they'd convert back to starter and slot in at #3 in their rotation.

Money is close to a wash, still leaving you a good 30 million to spend on Drew in right field. For center, play Pie, and/or have an open competition for the spot between Pie, Pagan, and anyone else you want to bring in to fight for it (Lofton?)

My lineup

Murton

Tejada

DLee

Drew

Aram

Barrett

DeRosa

Pie

There is no way that deal would ever go through. The Orioles are a bad team, but there not just going to throw Tejeda at us. You are giving them a at best 3 best outfielder for most teams, a short-stop who can hit to save his life, and a closer who sucked last season. Plus if we did get Tejeda hed bat 4th, Lee third, Rameriez 5th. Please stop with the Drew talks because if we get one of the two we wont be able to afford the other one.

I keep thinking that Hendry might go after Tejada again, but I don't know what players would be offered. The deal you mentioned would be great even if we had to throw in a prospect. Sign Drew and maybe Derosa could play OF with Theriot at 2B or pick up someone like Craig Wilson for RF.

lol. who? Wuertz.

They better not trade for Wells.

I'm a Cubs fan, I have the right be to be have my hopeful delusions.
For a Cub fan that's a duty, not a right. After all, if any thought is hopeful it's automatically delusional. :D

I think getting Rowand and holding Kenny Williams hostage for him is step one in any major deal. We could pluck one of their pitchers from them and then flip that guy along with others for an impact player.

And there's your 4 team trade:

Howry to Phillies

Rowand to White Sox

Garcia to Team X

Player X to Cubs

Team X = Detroit Tigers

Player X = Neifi Perez

the thought of Neifi Perez calling himself Player X like a bad nickname is making me cry hysterically.

Package Izturis and friends to the Nats for Kearns or Church.

I really would love to see a Murton, Church/Kearns/Drew, Drew/Kearns OF.

It would be a thing of beauty. We'd be good offensively and defensively, something new to the Cubs.

Do the Jays need a lefty? It might be part of a package for Wells.

Hmmm..What about the Redsox? Maybe its part of something for ManRam.

Could be. I just hope Hendry gets us another major impact bat and a very good one after that.

I'd assume (actually, guess would be the right word) that Boston would want Murton back.

I'd do Jones + Eyre + Izzy for Manny so fast It'd make heads spin. Of course I dont know why they'd want izzy and i dont think thats enough to get manny anyways.

If rosenthal is to be believed, if you take on Ramirez contract, you can have him for not much at all. With the way salaries are going, ManRam's production is cheap (compared to soriano)

Well, I wouldnt believe rosenthal if he said the sky was blue; but in that case then Jones + Eyre (do they need a lefty?) for ManRam?
