Well, that was ugly. Still a fun trip to Lincoln though. Beautiful stadium, great atmosphere, and the Husker faithful were amazingly friendly. I had a great time, minus the score.

I also got this posted on my Facebook wall:

"You know when the camera pans into the audience looking for a pissed off fan of the team that's getting their [butts] handed to them? Yeah...you are now THAT guy. Congrats."

So I guess all wasn't lost.

Someday, Chase Daniel is going to be a GREAT quarterback in this conference and the nation, but he has a lot of work to do. He's just looked lost these past two weeks. I don't know what his deal is.

Temple looked surprisingly good today. What a difference hitting the hole makes instead of dancing.

Once we make it to some mediocre bowl game, and hopefully win, fire all the coaches (or at least the coordinators, I'm not all that anti-Pinkel).

BS Michigan stuff report I: A little kid behind us kept saying "Ball State sucks". I guess they train them while they're young.

Eye roll time??

Ive seen a picture on the internet with Steve Breaston in the end zone at ND this year and ND fan in the front row is right in his face flipping him the bird. I guess as they get older they dont get wiser in South Bend.

The way Michigan has played recently, they don't deserve the #2 ranking. Unless something big changes and changes quickly they are going to get hammered by Ohio State.

Wrong. Neither OSU or UM gets hammered in that game. OSU won by 7 today against Illinois today, better knock them down too. UM played very conservatively against NU last week in gail force winds and today they put up 507 total yards, 355 on the ground. They blew it on 3 plays. 2 long bombs and one pick six. The final 2 TDs for BSU were against 2 and 3rd stringers when they were up 31-12. It was closer than it should of been.

I think that Michigan is kind of famous for this type of game. In the last couple of years their defense was bad enough to let their opponents come back on them. When it mattered their defense showed up and stopped BSU. I also think they have been holding back their offense for the OSU game. I am not saying that they are going to win but they will certainly play at a higher level against OSU. They also will stomp Louisville if given the opportunity.

Yeah, UM sucks at style points, always has and probably always will.

Franchione takes the FG on a 4th and 6 at the OU 22 down 4 with 3:30 left and at most 2 timeouts. Good call?

I havent seen much of the game but isnt OU pretty much one dimensional on offense tonight? Load up and stop the run.

Because that never happens to an opposing wideout in other stadiums.

The point is that it's ridiculous that little kids were telling us we sucked. We're 3-7 on a MAC schedule, of course we f&@&^ing suck. I don't need jackass 7 year olds telling me that. Especially when their own team was one questionable no-call away from possibly being tied with Ball Freaking State at home.

Really AM too? HUh. gotta punt it here then. how are they going to go down the field with so little time if they cant pass.

Oh, definitely. You don't make it here and they're already in range to win the game.

Cal is not a national championshup caliber team. Lots of great talent but I think they will get destroyed physically by a top team.

My point/example was sarcastic and an obvious generalization of ND fans. Its not meant to be taken seriously. Sure you can be pissed about the kid but generalizations like that can be applied to any football team in America.

I disagree. They are very balanced, but tend to give up some big plays. They have a great turnover margin, and a potent offense. I think they could go toe to toe with the big powers.

Id like to see them in the Rose Bowl more than USC.

they are consistently outgained and manage to win. I'd like to see them win but I don't think they are that good on the lines. Lynch is amazing though.

Wow. Marcus Monk, 8 catches, 192 yards. Crazy. Shame he dropped that one in the end zone that ended up getting intercepted. McFadden ran for 219. Two enormous performances. Losing Michael Grant to a knee injury is going to hurt bad, though, especially going up against a pass-happy Tennessee team next week. I'm more worried than I was originally.

Last year's Northwestern loss was the worst/most disappointing since Kirk's arrival. We one-upped it with the Indiana game this year. We topped that today with a loss AT HOME against a bad Northwestern team.

This team has some major problems and it's not just about a couple of bad losses. I mean problems. They've regressed this year. They play softer than any other team in the Ferentz era. They have no focus. They uncharacteristically played grabass in the pre-game like they had the win in the bag. There was a little scuffle on the sidelines during the game because redshirt guys were goofing around when we were down 14-0. They apparently think they are entitled to a New Year's Day bowl because the previous 4 teams have earned one and play as complacent as possible.

This is stuff that goes beyond not having playmakers and getting manhandled up front against an 0-5 Northwestern team, despite returning starters who inexplicably played well last year and have regressed.

Despite keeping it a little more low-key in the press conference (said we haven't played "Iowa football" and played like a bunch of "fat cats") Ferentz and the coaching staff were challenging manhood's after the game today.

Oh and Bob Stoops is completely crazy, but it's a refreshing change of pace.

For those not aware, Stoops played at Iowa and was the heavy favorite to take over when Fry left. He was ready to take the job, but OU put on the full-court press and gave him a contract which he had 24 hours to accept. When he came in to interview he told our A.D. about it, but we had a search committee and Bowlsby said he had to interview Ferentz first. Stoops felt he couldn't pass on the OU job with no guarantee of getting the Iowa job, so he took it and we hired Ferentz.

Not that I'm unhappy with how it turned out, but it's always been a major discussion topic over how things would have been different if we had given Stoops the job.

You make a good point and they do live up to the stereotype of no defense all offense in the Pac 10. I would still like to see them in the Rose Bowl and will be pulling for them to make it.

The lines? I think their OL is great*.

I think they'll beat USC (and USC level teams) but couldn't win the national championship without getting some breaks. Their defense would be so much better if Mixon hadn't gotten hurt.

*Was in Palm Springs, didn't get to see much of the game today. Glad to see Markey finally break out. I'm shocked that they were in it the first half and the final was only a 14-point loss.

1). I hate Notre Dame 2). They do NOT deserve a BCS bid this year. They willl probably still get it, which will make me hate them even more, but still, they are freakin' NOTRE DAME. Oh goodness gracious, we can never disrespect ND, we should be punched below the belt if we ever do. What an idiot for even suggesting we even upset ND. By the way, I just wanna let everyone know that two of my best friends go to Notre Dame. Not oly that, my Grandpa is a HUGE Notre Dame fan. I still don't like them though.
