Are we talking about the same Aramis Ramirez that hired a personal trainer and incorporated a new stretching and diet plan last offseason, got into (better) shape and then went on to play more games in a season then he ever has in 2006 while reaching a career high in HR's and RBI's while also improving drastically on defense? That Aramis Ramirez?

Yes? Okay. Just checking.

Hear, hear!

Aramis just doesn't hustle. He's not lazy like Eyre. What's Eyre's offseason fitness plan? Twinkees and ding dongs?

Aramis just needs someone to put fire under his *ss during the season. Dusty was too touchy feely for that. It wouldn't have taken much.

Look at how much Aramis improved defensively since he came over from the Pirates. He can put in the effort and he wants to be a better ballplayer.

But Phil Rogers tells me he's lazy.

I wonder if Eyre will have to shave and lose 20 pounds?

Off topic but if we can get those guys in your sig I will be very happy for once.

Vincente Padilla is a punk and not someone I'd want near the team. "Punk" is a juvenille label to throw at someone, but it fits better than any other word I can think of.

No, apparently we're talking about the Aramis Ramirez whose laziness is so shockingly awful that it kills orphans and kittens.

Or maybe the Aramis Ramirez that didn't have a .950 OPS in the 2003 playoffs.

Or maybe it was the Aramis Ramirez that was the ONLY player still producing in September of 2004.

Or the Aramis Ramirez that didn't get hurt and miss the rest of 2005 hustling to beat out a ground ball to short.

BTW, someone in a game thread this year broke down every one of the situations where ARam hit a home run. Very few of them came in games that were already out of reach.

But yeah, keep ragging on our best offensive player.

Licey.com[/url]"]Ramírez también habló de la contratación de Lou Piniella como nuevo dirigente de los Cachorros.

"Todo el mundo sabe cómo es Lou Piniella, es un hombre temperamental, pero también es un buen manager", señaló.

Translated by Babelfish:

Ramirez also spoke of the hiring of Lou Piniella like new leader of the Puppies [Cubs].

"Everybody knows how it is Lou Piniella, he is a temperamental man, but also he is a good one for manager", indicated.

Yeah, that's what I had, but I didn't want to post my Spanish skills for fear of more proficient speakers pointing out mistakes.

I always love it when Cubs is translated "puppies."

Jerry "The King" Lawler loves "puppies." But something tells me that is a "different kind of puppies" he is referring to, but I could be wrong?
