What the hell was Duhon doing in crunch time over Gordon?

He should have been in, but I think the reasoning for it was how badly he was being abused by Shaun Livingston.

Not like Duhon or Hinrich were doing better against Livingston. Woulda liked to see more Thabo against the Clippers' bigger guards.

Me too. I think it was bad coaching.

Oh well.

Number of representatives from the 3rd best team in the east (who is 1.5 games behind the number one team) in the all-star game: 0.

Make a case-who should have made it from the Bulls? I can't see anybody who could beat anybody out that got picked for the reserves.

Sweet, this keeps the pricetags down!

Thanks coaches!

Who cares about the all star game anyway?

It's a bunch of no defense lameness.

I agree no one deserved it. I suppose a case could be made for Gordon over Billups.

Gordon definitely deserved to make it and Deng could've made it too, but I understand Deng not making it. There were two Pistons that made it, two Wizards (both very deserving, so I won't say anything about that), and two NETS that made it. How can two Nets make the All-Star Game? Kidd's had a good year, but Carter hasn't really been as good as he usually has been this season. Gordon deserved to make it over VC and probably one of the Pistons as well.

It won't keep the pricetag down. Gordon and Deng are still going to ask for max deals. Did it hurt Tyson at all when he made a grand total of 0 ASG appearances?

But does a team with the record that NJ has really deserve two All-Stars?

I look at it as an individual award. I don't think team record should be much of a factor in selections.

To each his own. I think it should be a combination of the two.

when was the last time the Bulls had an all star?

I realize the game is overrated, but the fact remains they haven't had a dominant go to guy since Jordan. And they won't win the East till they get one.

They can ask for whatever they want. I'd like a max deal from my employer but my odds of getting it are nil.

I don't think either player is a max player. If the Bulls are really committed to their draft pick this year, then Deng is expendable. (given the huge depth @ SF) Gordon isn't replacable at this point, but I don't think he's a max player. Regardless, I think the Bulls set themselves up in a fine position to negotiate extensions for these two (if they view them as long term pieces here) with the structure of Ben and Kirk's deals.

Jalen Rose.

Also, Carter has less TO's-Carter has been better in every single category. Hamilton is the same way except for assists, where he is tied with Gordon.

Billups is the only interesting case-but they wanted another point guard, and Billups is averaging 18 points, 7.6 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 TO's, while Gordon has 21.5 points, 3.6 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.1 TO's. Billups really edges him out in that comparison.

Jordan and Pippen were the last All-Stars in 98. Jalen Rose was close in one of those ugly years.

Yeah, the only other reason you can make a case for Gordon over Billups, is Gordon played 10 more games. Carmello missed 15 games and isn't on the team, so the 10 games Billups missed could have put Grdon over the top.

I forgot that-good point (although I think if Anthony had missed 15 games due to injury instead of suspension, he probably would have made it).

ahhh...dang it...I thought about it and I can't think of anyone from the Bull with a legit case.

Can I still rant in peace?

:P  :P

There's no reason at all that Gordon shouldn't have made it. He's averaging 3 more points a game than Chauncey, has played 10 more games, and on top of all that, he has played 6 fewer minutes a game in the games he has played due to Skiles's completely irrational love affair with Duhon. Gordon is clearly having the better season IMO (although Billups is averaging 7.6 assists to Gordon's 3.6).
