all in all, a delay would have hurt the tigers more - they cannot afford to lose verlander.

It rained all night. It was relatively dry up to about 8:15, but the radar was ugly and it was obviously going to come down.

 

I don't understand why Verlander would start warming up while Mussina wasn't out there yet. Moose has to go to the mound first, and you can see both bullpens easily at the stadium.
