It's amazing how bad Stanton and the Spartans can be.

 

Brewer is starting, so that likely means 3 things: 1) Kafka won't be available at all, 2) Bacher will probably see some time in the 2nd half, and 3) Sutton won't even get 15 carries.

 

At least Brewer should have some nice runs. The special teams unit will probably be the most detrimental. They'll give Penn State great field position all day.

As I said last week, Classic Moo. Completely predictable that they wouldn't show up today, although I figured they would at least find a way to beat a team as bad as Illinois. This will probably be the death knell for John L Smith, although I really wonder if Moo will ever stop collapsing to end their seasons.

Yeah, that was a bad call..didn't end up affecting anything though, thankfully. (Well, maybe not so thankfully for us ND fans-but I would have hated to see a bad call spring a late score at the same time)

Not really, even if you give Northwestern the short field, they can't do anything with it.

You're costing your offense up to 30 yards in field position for no reason. Just kick it off, send your defense out for 3 plays, and field another horrible punt. And if you're going to do it, at least don't decide to kick it to someone who can handle the ball.

 

And that would be another reason why you don't do it.

Nice job by the refs to completely ignore the fact that the game clocked stopped after 3rd down. Of course, the announcers never noticed it, either.
