if the a's win the world series you can guarantee hendry's making the clubhouse dry next season

How about starting with the executive clubhouse. They had to be drunk to give out those ridiculous contracts last year.

I remember taking the tour of Wrigley Field that Cubs Care puts on each year. In both clubhouses, there's a stand-up cooler (like you would see at a convenience store) full of beer. Miller, Budweiser, I believe even Coors was in there. And I mean stocked full!

Maybe that's the reason Jacques boots throws into the ground. He'll have a couple before the game and in-between innings.

Guillen was the most vocal, however, after learning that beer is no longer provided in the McAfee Coliseum clubhouses. Oakland general manager Billy Beane banned alcoholic beverages at midseason after Loaiza's arrest on suspicion of drunken driving and a published story highlighting the nightlife of certain A's players.

there was a decent amount of stuff coming out about swisher and blanton being big party guys a couple months ago, so this isn't really all that surprising.

What's the big deal? Most people don't get free beer when they go to work.

I worked for a company that kept free beer & wine in the fridge. Too bad the work culture was such that people would spend 12-14 hours a day there and not even think about opening one up.

I interviewed for an office job where during the interview they claimed to have beer readily available in the fridge... although I ended up turning it down.

I remember this was a big deal in the mid 1990's with Randy Myers when the Cubs' clubhouse went dry. So, I guess the Cubs have done this in the past.

Heh. In the PCL the clubhouses are dry by league decree. So we kept it in the clubhouse managers office. Somehow every night that BIG igloo cooler found its way into the clubhouse. It was like it had legs or something...

Moral of the story, there is what is said and what is done.

My company's offices keeps beer and wine available in just about every office location. It's not a bad thing to have a couple when you're working late.
