Andrew ( Chicago): Who will be the Cubs manager next year?

SportsNation Gary Gillette: (2:57 PM ET ) Not guaranteed, but I think there's a reasonably good chance it's Girardi. I think he's history in Florida unless they go to the NLCS and, if he's willing to negotiate a buyout, he could quickly become the leading contender for the Flubs' job.

Goose (Chicago): Flubs, that hurts. Do you see the Northsiders spending a ton of money this offseason to keep their fans? I have a feeling they will not sell out in record time like they did this year unless some serious changes are made.

SportsNation Gary Gillette: (3:02 PM ET ) I think the Flubs will open their checkbook again, but they've got to get a lot smarter or it won't have the right effect.

Now if Gary Gillette would quit spending sp much time to find names that make the Cubs look silly, maybe he would be taken seriously.

I bet he spent ALL NIGHT thinking about "Flubs."

I get it! It's cause it sounds like Cubs! The cleverness! The wit!

We should call the Cardinals the "[expletive]-inals" cuz that would be teh funny.

Edit: hey, the word filter isn't supposed to work when I'm trying to make a joke!

Wow it's alright if fans use phrases like "flubs" but this guy is suppose to be a professional. And by professional i mean he's getting paid to have an opinion about sports.

The term "flub" is pretty much right on for this team, though.

flub

–verb (used with object), verb (used without object)

1. to perform poorly; blunder; bungle: He flubbed the last shot and lost the match.

–noun

2. a blunder.

Who cares what Fairy Gillete says.

Get it, Fairy, Gary, Fairy/Gary. It rhymes, you see, and is therefore gutbusting hilarious.

Unforunately though, he is absolutey correct in what he says...and that is so depressing.
