remember when some said this was a bad signing by Oakland?

.270/.385/.534/.919 with 32 homers

Did anyone seriously believe that the Big Hurt with a 500k base salary was a bad signing?

He's the perfect DH.

My bet is that next season Thomas ends up in Minnesota to stick it to Kenny Williams. Could be a monster bat in there lineup next season that might come at a decent price.

I don't think stats like those come at nice prices.

Thomas is still going to be moderately priced compared to other similar DHs. He's old and still isn't durable. He'll probably get like 6 or 7 mil next year if I had to guess. There will still be good incentives though.

I say Thomas stays in Oakland.

I wonder what Barry Bonds is going to get? For all the talk about his bad year he still has an ops above .900. Detroit could sure use a LH power hitting DH.

I dont think you can blame the White Sox for letting Thomas go. He was about as frustrating as Wood and Prior have been for us.

I'd imagine it would be a one-year deal with a low base ($2-3M) that could carry up to the $6-7M mentioned with incentives.

My favorite 2006 Frank Thomas stat (aside from his IsoD): 32 HRs, 8 doubles.

That and they have Konerko and Thome to occupy the 1B/DH spots.

except for the fact that Frank put up HOF numbers before being run out of town :( (prior and wood still technically have time)

Ryan Howard - 53 homers, 18 doubles.
