I hope Hill keeps proving me wrong.

Me too.

Add me to that list.

I hope hill contines to prove me right. BWAHAHAAha.

Go ahead and gloat because you earned that right but be sure to readily admit when you are wrong.

Sure will. I'll remind you all a little later if Hill continues his success. Because quite frankly, I have been dissapointed in the crow eating so far. It's been very weak.

Rich Hill, Zambrano, and Murton (and, to a lesser extent, Lee) are really the only reasons I have to watch the Cubs the rest of the season. So I'm glad things are turning out well for him.

I love that he pitches deep into these games - he's not throwing 100 pitches by the fifth or sixth inning.

Before we annoint him the next coming, keep in mind he was pitching against a Giants team that didn't get in the city until about 2am and was without a red-hot Bonds. Good performance, but it was hardly dominating given the circumstances.

That's true, but he did shut them out with only, what, 3 hits up through 7 innings? And 6 k's and only 1 walk? Yeah, I know Bonds wasn't there and it was an early morning, but that it is pretty dominating, and they're not a terrible team.

He's had quality starts now against Arizona, Pittsburgh, Philly, St. Louis and San Francisco. No truly great teams but some good lineups (AZ (i think they were hot at the time), Philly and St Louis)

Let's remember we compete mostly with "not truely great teams". .

give me a break. just admit that, as of right now, you were dead wrong about him.

I think there might be only one "truly great team" in either league right now.

...even then, it's a debatable point, considering the Yankees' pitching issues.

ah, old game threads are fun...

GO TO HELL, RICH HILL!!! I LOATHE YOU WITH EVERY OUNCE OF HATRED I CAN MUSTER!

Oh, Rich Hill. You've wooed me! I'm all yours!

I wish someone wrote a book that detailed the offers that Hendry received for Hill last year.

Yes, I'm firmly on the Rich Hill bandwagon

Hill reminds us what AAAA means. Man, he is just awful. Three straight walks, sac fly, walk, grand slam. He did that all to himself. I'd rather have Glendon Rusch.

Me encanta Rich Hill!

I'm pretty sure everyone wants Hill to succeed, abuck. You seemingly want him to succeed to show everyone how smart you are.

Hardly dominating? What would it take for you to consider it dominating? A perfect game? Just because the circumstances were easier than they could have been doesn't make it not a dominating performance.

Oh, come on. Did you ever admit when he was sporting a 9+ ERA that you were dead wrong about him at that time? He's had a few good games, and some absolutely miserable ones. When he starts putting up numbers like he did today with some sort of consistency, then we'll talk.

What the hell, man? Most of us bashing him earlier prefaced repeatedly that we WANT to be proven wrong. Now that we have been proven wrong so far, pretty much all of us are admitting we may have jumped the gun and praising Hill's stepping up to the ML level. These "told you so" posters are getting pretty tedious, especially since they're not really "catching" anyone at anything and really only seem to be wanting to annoy/embarass other posters. I mean, you pick two of my posts where I was clearly just ranting, mostly for comedic sake, and ignored the dozens of others where I actually explained why I didn't like Hill earlier and how I hoped he'd prove my apprehension wrong and all of the posts where I've specifically said he's shown that my previous opinions might very well be incorrect. Not cool.
