Why would he send him to the mound the next inning? Why wouldn't he pinch run with him, especially when he's the go ahead run?

 

Because Carpenter thought he wasn't hurt that bad. He went out to the mound and changed his mind. Still, why do you bat a .132 hitting pitcher in a close game if you're going to take him out anyway? You don't.
