They just announced that Walrond will be brought up to start tomorrow.

 

Good for him. He's not a prospect, but neither are the other pitchers we were considering for tomorrow (I'm not counting Ryu because he obviously cannot pitch tomorrow now). So, barring a prospect pitching, I like the idea of giving a guy 1 major league start-he's been up for a cup of coffee one time before, but never a start.

What's the better option? Theriot? Thier numbers are decently similar the past two years (OPS's very similar, Theriot with a little better OBP, Bynum with the little better SLG) and Bynum was at Triple A while Theriot was at High A and Double A. They are the same age-why is Theriot so much better than Bynum? The better answer is that neither is all that good, and both shouldn't be playing next year-but neither one is significantly better than the other one.
