rusch possibly going to the mets?

Recommended Posts

Well, it's going to be hard to do..but I sure hope they bring him into the game a few times this week-and hopefully they can bring him into situations where he can succeed and somebody like the Mets will trade for him. I wonder if the note that the Cubs are hoping to trade him actually comes from the organization, and Hendry is actively trying to get rid of him to whoever will take him right now.

Go Glendon! You da' man!

:^o

What is Bynum's contrac situation? Is he "DFA-able" this offseason?

Man it would be nice if JH is really, finally seeing the gross error of his ways...

With Izturis and his injury problems going on I highly doubt Hendry would move Bynum.

I meant during the offseason (see above).

The Rusch era is not remembered fondly in Mets land. I would be somewhat shocked if they dipped back into that pile of dung for another go at it. Despite all the turnover, there are still plenty of front office types who were around to watch Rusch last time in Queens. He actually had a decent season his first full year, but quickly reverted to form in the following season. Nobody misses him (except for maybe all the donut shops and bra stores in Manhattan.........).

He is not signed for next year and is not arbitration eligible. The Cubs control him and could easily just refuse to offer him a deal. But I doubt they do, they'll bring him back for no good reason at all.

Yeah, the off season....we'll see if Hendry has larned his lessons and not try to just get that lightning in a bottle or too many Bynum/Macias/Perez types on the team.

Boston is desperate for a lefty in the bullpen, as shown by the last 5 games.

And the money to pay for Rusch in 2007. Let's keep the faith!

Doesn't matter, all another team has to do is put in a claim on Rusch and Hendry doesn't even need to work out a trade, he can just let that team have Rusch, which includes his contract. Just getting rid of him is enough of a return on the trade if you aren't saddled with the contract.

But I don't think a team would gamble like that. If I were the Mets or Sox and wanted Glendon I'd let him slide through and strike a deal then. I don't think he's that hot of a commodity to compete over.

True, but I'm sure Rusch already passed through waivers near the beginning of August when Hendry probably put anybody he might want to deal on waivers.

Can you pass through waivers while on the DL? :?:
