Chelsea beats ManU in the FA Cup replay.

 

Plus: Chelsea now has an extra game to play, adding to their fixture congestion (they play Mar 30, Apr 1, Apr 4, Apr 7, Apr 11, Apr 14, Apr 17, Apr 21, Apr 27 and May 4 with the potential for Apr 25 and May 2 if they advance in the Europa League).

Negative: That extra game will be played on Apr 14, meaning Tottenham will no longer play Chelsea three days after they come back from a Europa League game in Russia.

I haven't been as excited about a young mls'er as I am about Jose Villareal since Dempsey. Which is fitting because they have a similar penchant for making huge plays out of nowhere. He's got a similar, roaming attacker game.

Came back to finish 2-2 but Bale rolled his ankle right at the end and had to get stretchered off. Not a good day. I know Tottenham can win on the road (they're the only team in the EPL right now with more wins on the road than at home and they've taken more points on the road this year) but it's not going to be easy, especially with Bale out.

 

Elsewhere Chelsea won 3-1 at home, Newcastle lost 3-1 at Benfica and Fenerbahce beat Lazio 2-0 at home.

I am now happy Chelsea beat ManU which postponed the Tottenham-Chelsea match.

Gulati just confirmed that the winner of the '13 and '15 Gold Cups will play for the right to go to the Confed's Cup if it's not the same team.

This is a good idea.

Holy crap, Dortmund. Two goals in injury time to seemingly win the tie. Only a minute or so of injury time left.

 

Dortmund should have been flagged for offsides on the winner but Malaga's second shouldn't have counted either for the same reason.

 

Epic finish.

The build up for Dortmund's first goal was pretty sweet.

Jose Mourinho is the best dude. This story from Grant Wahl is about a Mexican-American guy who took time off work to volunteer to set up the practice fields for Real Madrid on their annual LA preseason trip and how Mourinho befriended him and made him part of the team.
