Huge rivalry, opportunity for the US to put Mexico in a bind for World Cup qualification. We aren't expected to win or even tie so it's house money for the US.

It's early in the final stages of qualification(3rd of 10 matches), so no one's in true danger yet. Mexico losing this match would put them behind the pace though and give us a huge edge. This is a game that gets written off as a loss, so no real threat if the US doesn't get any points.
