This probably says more about Jones than that play, but I thought it was pretty tame by his standards. He tried to keep him at arm's length and extended to brace for the guy, wasn't even looking when it caught him.

@GrantWahl Costa Rica FA VP tells me they will protest game officially with FIFA for not suspending it when lines weren't visible. I doubt that'll work

I'm no soccer watching expert, but since the kids I wake up at 7am and on weekends I've seen quite a bit of the futbol. Everybody was really slow, and nobody could maintain possession. It was kind of neat from a "you don't see that every day" perspective, but in reality it blew. Nothing like football in the snow.

 

I guess they wanted altitude and cold for their advantage, but snow in Denver in March isn't exactly rare, and when it snows, it tends to snow hard there.

I'm gonna go optimistic and say a 2-2 draw. Jozy and Clint early, but we blow the lead late.

 

It's nuts Clint's never scored* against them. He's hit posts, had a goal disallowed and Oswaldo Sanchez stood on his head a couple times in 07 and 09 to stop him.

 

*that goal in the 08 friendly should have stood.
