in the english league cup, a fourth division team (bradford city) with player salaries of less than £2m total has beaten wigan, arsenal and aston villa to advance to the league final and play at wembley. against swansea, which beat chelsea in the match where the ballboy was kicked.

also, bradford city now have more wins this season over premier league teams than QPR.

I have no problem whatsoever with what Hazard did.

Yeah, me either. Chasing a game, late, and some ponce-assed ballboy (the 17 year old son of Swansea's director of football, FYI) decides he's going to fall on the ball like he's recovering a fumble? I'd probably have done the same thing.

F that. Swansea should be fined for allowing someone in the club's capacity (ie, not a fan, but a quasi-employee) to interfere with the game on the field. That went beyond gamesmanship.

I'm guessing this will be coming at some point. Because it happened to Chelsea its hard for me to care as much :-). At 17 the kid knew what he was doing, he won't be on the sideline ever again.

After getting turned down by a bunch of no-name Euro retreads, NYRB hired Mike Petke as head coach which must mean Henry likes him. I hope ownership gives him as much support as DC gave Olsen and RSL gave Kreis in similar situations because those are two of the best coaches in the league now. Always liked Petke, hope it works out.

Me neither. I'm sure no Chelsea fan, but it's Swansea/that putz kid that are in the wrong here.

Yep. It clearly wasn't malicious either. It's exactly what you do on the playground or in gym class when someone's being a dick.

And it gets worse for Hazard. The FA charged him today.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1312779/fa-charges-eden-hazard-with-violent-conduct-for-ball-boy-incident?cc=5901

England's Football Association on Friday charged Chelsea winger Eden Hazard with violent conduct for kicking a ball boy during a League Cup semifinal match against Swansea.

The FA said Friday the normal three-match ban that is a mandatory sanction for violent conduct "was clearly insufficient."

Hazard has until Jan. 29 to respond to the charge, the FA said on its website, and after that will face a harsher penalty.

I'm fine with the red card for Hazard but anything more than that is just stupid.

Luton Town knock out Norwich. 1st non-league team to beat a Premier League team since 86.

Without Walcott Arsenal would be awful this year. Different team entirely with him on the field.

Oldham and Liverpool tied at 1 so far.

Spurs drop out to Leeds and Chelsea held at Brentford.

Clint missed an absolute sitter on a great ball from Lennon, from about 3 yards out. Then he comes down and scores a goal on a fantastic looping header.

Spurs looked terrible today. Disinterested would be a kind adjective.

Oldham take the lead just before the break. :-o

Went up 3-1 now 3-2 and are barely hanging on with 5 minutes to go.

This. Terrible performance all around.

 Oldham get Everton at home in the next round

Pretty crap draw for the next round. ManU, Man City and Arsenal all play at home against Championship or bottom of EPL opponents. Chelsea on the road if they go through but they'll play a Championship side also.
